The pieces in the Watershed series were created with the intention of entering the East Maui Watershed art contest, a benefit for the Watershed and a way for local artists to help bring awareness to the community about Hawaii's many endangered, endemic species.  More than 50 pieces were juried in and are available for viewing online or at Viewpoints Gallery until 10/23/2010.  'Alala was juried in and all of my pieces met the criteria (native and endemic) except Keanae, which depicts the sacred Kalo which is not endemic but was brought to Hawaii by the Ploynesians.
